On this episode of: Me.
If you have been keeping up with my Snapchat, you may know I have had an #eventful couple of weeks. Life is rough in the fast lane you guys, especially for a content creator life myself. Before I move on, it took every fiber of my being to not hashtag the word ‘content’ because two hashtags within the first two sentences of a blog is a little too much. Anyway, I haven’t updated anyone on my life happenings so I thought this would be the appropriate time to do so.
Firstly, I got fucking bangs. Who even saw that one coming? Not me, I’ll tell you that. No more than 12 hours prior to my scheduled hair cut did I see a picture of a Instagram famous 15-year-old and decided that I would take part in whatever club she belonged to. A few snips later and I am a new woman. It’s quite liberating to free myself of the Kardashian middle part syndrome and try something a little different; think Bridgette Bardot (btw, I still wear a middle part — I just have bangs now.)
I have also tried this new thing called being an adult? It’s really overrated and not fun at all and 0 out of 10 would not recommend. Interning is really weird because you working like an adult but also, you’re still a kid in the world adults who are also still kids doing things they think adults do. Very weird *insert side eye emoji here*.
In news of me not being an adult, I went to a little thing for this movie called Dunkirk. It’s this little indy flick, cute cast, some guy named Harry Styles is in it — wonder who that is. Event of the month was seeing my future baby daddy Harry Styles at the premiere of Dunkirk in his Calvin Klein shoes. Stay tuned for upcoming posts for my commentary on every One Direction song under the sun as requested by Kelly Chan.
I have also gotten a jumpstart on my latest self improvement which is focused on my wardrobe. For those who don’t know, my current style inspiration is Morgan Stewart of the E! show “Rich Kids of Beverly Hills.” She’s a gemini, has a lot of opinions, and great fucking style. She’s pretty traditional in her choices which makes replicating her general vibe pretty simple. While I do believe I have great style on my own, looking at the same clothes all of the time can get a bit monotonous so I use Morgan as a bit of a closet pick me up since we already have a similar style to begin with. I also believe we are low-key the same person but that is a different post for another day. Follow her on Instagram by clicking here.
What I am trying to do with this wardrobe improvement is to actually invest in the items I spend my money on instead of waltzing into ZARA, which is fine sometimes, and burning $30 on something I will look at once. The rules, if you would also like to partake in the investment wardrobe project, is that I am not allowed to buy any “fast fashion” items unless that item is something like a t-shirt or tank — maybe even jeans. The item has to be at minimum $60 to qualify as an investment item. And to counter act the greater spending on fewer items, I should only be buying one to two pieces a month.
I was fortunate enough to snag a black fur coat from & Other Stories, H&M’s better looking sister. Nearly had a shit fit because the size 8 coat I bought was cancelled because the size was sold out — but divine intervention had my fucking backbone because the size 10 was definitely the better choice. I will be unveiling that coat when the season is befitting; who buys a fur coat in the middle of July? I already have my next two purchases lined up because spending my money is fun for me and financial security is a scam. I am also in the process of trying to rationalize a $700 Gucci loafer purchase — I’m not sold yet.
Slow and steady wins the race my children.
Other (less important) updates include:
- Lana Del Rey continues to scam fans into thinking she’s releasing new music with her latest release: Lust for Life (Beautiful People Beautiful Problems feat. Stevie Nicks)
- Peep my boy Louis Tomlinson’s song with Bebe “Back to You”, undoubtedly my favorite solo 1D single — sorry Harry.
- This years notable birthday presents included: a prayer candle with Kim Kardashian and a Ventrone Chronicles choker (thank you to Isaballer and Britt & Rae.)
- Drinking water is still hard to do.
- I don’t hate oatmeal as much as I remembered (pro-tip: sprinkle salt and a little maple syrup so it doesn’t taste like bland vomit.
- Budgeting is hard to do.
- I bought a new bra and it was the greatest decision I have made in genuinely 3 full years — it has been too long since you have gotten a bra that fits (love yourself.)
